About

The Millennial Pastor – Rev. Erik Parker

millennialpastor@gmail.com

I am a Lutheran Pastor born at the tail end of 1982, which places me at the tip of the Millennial Generation. We are the first generation to reach adulthood after the year 2000. I have been using the internet my whole adult life, yet some of the people I serve grew up traveling to church in a horse and buggy, or worked office jobs on typewriters, or remember TV being a new thing. Our generational differences make life interesting and we struggle together to be the ‘church’ in this new world. Here you will find my thoughts, stories and lots of sermons about what it means to be a millennial and a pastor.

A little bit more about Erik:

I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. I have been a life long church-goer and Lutheran. I graduated from the University of Alberta with a BA in History and Theology. I then attended the Lutheran Theological Seminary – Saskatoon for my MDiv. I have served three congregations in the prairies of western Canada.

    1. Well… I think it is up to God to determine if I, or anyone, is saved. I wouldn’t presume to make decisions like in God’s place. But I do have faith in God’s promises that God is gracious and merciful and plans to save a sinner like me.

As far as seminary goes, actually not everyone can graduate seminary. First you need a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. And then you need to complete 4 years of classes and other requirements to earn a Mdiv. It is actually pretty hard to graduate from seminary… it takes a lot of work.

Hello Mr.Parker, I noticed this comment of someone asking if you were Saved and thought I could help shed some Biblical light on the subject.

The book of John gives a number of tests which we can both apply to ourselves and also to others, to make sure that we are in the faith.

        1 John 5:13
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
If you have called upon the name of the LORD to save you with a genuine heart then you will know if you are saved or not..

        Roman’s 5:5
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

The Scriptures teach to have the HOLY SPIRIT is to be Saved from GOD’S wrath

A person can’t experience the Love of GOD without the HOLY SPIRIT.

I asked the LORD into my life years ago and I know that HE Saved me because my life changed for the better ever since..
Since then I experienced the Life of GOD’S Nature Living inside me for years and will Forever…

If you are not confident sir about if you are saved then I encourage you to repent of your sins and ask the LORD JESUS CHRIST to save you..

Please don’t depend on your denomination and schooling or intelligence to give you right standing with GOD…

No offense but GOD never called people to make up all these denominations and live by them as to possibly add to the Finnished work at Calvary be JESUS CHRIST…

The Creator JESUS CHRIST said we as Saved followers of CHRIST are to follow HIM and not Man..
We are called by GOD’S Name and no other…

May GOD’S Grace be upon you and your ministry always..🙏
